Theological Dictionary

Overview
One project I'm especially proud of is a 300+ page theological dictionary I designed for Thieme Ministries. The dictionary defines biblical terms and concepts, requiring a thoughtful and organized approach to layout and typography.
I was responsible for the entire design process: creating the front matter and table of contents, building a clean, readable layout, typesetting the full manuscript, and redesigning and updating the diagrams and illustrations. The project involved a unique technical challenge — transferring and reformatting content from WordPerfect, an older program, into InDesign. Since formatting like italics and bold didn’t carry over, I had to carefully reformat all text by hand to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout the book.
To keep the massive project manageable, I helped develop a plan to complete a set number of dictionary entries each week. This structured, steady schedule kept us not only on track but actually ahead of our deadlines. The project was a true exercise in discipline, problem-solving, and design craftsmanship — and seeing it all come together in the final printed piece was an incredibly rewarding moment.
